Your Privacy MattersFinBuddy is built with a privacy-first approach. We never sell your personal information or transaction history, and use Clerk for secure authentication.

#1. Information We Collect

We collect information you directly provide, including name and email during signup (managed securely via Clerk authentication), transaction records, budget configurations, receipt image uploads, and transaction descriptions that you input manually. We do not store or access your bank credentials directly.

#2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to provide, operate, and maintain the financial dashboard. Specifically, we use it to calculate category-wise expenses, display budget progress reports, extract details from receipt uploads via AI, and generate personalized financial spending insights. We do not use your financial data to target advertisements.

#3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We share information only with trusted third-party service providers essential to run our app, such as Clerk for user authentication, our databases for storage, and AI analysis providers for receipt image text extraction. All third-party providers are checked for data safety compliance.

#4. Security & Encryption

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical security measures (including secure SSL/HTTPS encryption for data transit and encryption at rest in our databases) to safeguard your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

#5. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data on FinBuddy. You can view, edit, or delete any added transaction or financial account directly from the interface. If you wish to delete your entire profile and all associated data, you can request account deletion, and we will purge all your records from our systems within 30 days.

#6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates occur, we will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and revise the 'Last Updated' date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
